Carbon Impact of REALice in Canada – to date

Using unheated water not only takes the thermal energy input away that’s been required previously and therefore reduces the amount of Greenhouse gases emitted to the environment.

It it also reduces chiller loads tremendously (approx. 20%)  by having to shave off less heat from the ice and by the reset of the brine temperature of anywhere between  3F – 6F.

With that in mind each sheet of ice that is no longer flooded with hot water can save around 41t of CO2 per year/season!

With the current state of the adoption of the technology in Canada here is our carbon impact on a useful life of 10 years!
