18 Jul REALice at the Molson Twin Arena Located on the Enoch Cree Nation, AB
The Molson Twin Arena on the Enoch Cree Nation is the first arena in Canada operated by a indigenous group to have installed the REALice system and will soon start to make ice with unheated water! This is an important step that will lead to financial savings, better ice and lower GHG emissions.
Based on our conservative estimate, we expect the Molson Twin Arena to save approximately 140,000 kWh of electricity and over 30,000 m3 of natural gas per year.
A high precision tool for a big job.
The image shows the installation of the REALice R10x system at Molson Canadian Twin Arena. Powered by the water pressure only, the system will continuously remove micro air bubbles from the water, allowing operators to use unheated water for flooding the ice. REALice is 3D printed and quality controlled in Sweden and has no moving parts. No maintenance is required and the expected life is 25 years.
